The Florida Mural Trail
is an unique statewide trail that connects mural cities with mural enthusiasts. The goal of the organized effort is to provide a website that will include an interactive map and invite people to visit the city's link to learn more about their mural programs.
This great opportunity for mural cities to feature their public art programs and encourage people to make plans to visit each city and learn about their history and artistic expression. The end result will be increased tourism, a positive economic impact, as well as a fascinating experience that will encourage people to follow the trail as more cities are added.
At this time, the Florida Mural Trail has confirmed information from (14) fourteen cities. The current cities include Lake Placid, Punta Gorda, Titusville, Palatka, Deland, Lake Wales, St. Cloud, Okeechobee, Dunedin, Gainesville, St. Petersburg, Hobe Sound, Arcadia and Northwood Villlage.
Qualified cities have confirmed their information, including name of their organization, point of contact, phone number, email, website/Facebook page and number of murals they maintain in their programs. A website/Facebook link will be used on the interactive map to connect visitors to each of the mural programs.

What is better than being a Mural City? Being included as a city on the Florida Mural Trail!
Luann Malark, Chairperson of the North Brevard Mural Society and her husband, Bob, have been enjoying the efforts of other cities in Florida to preserve history, showcase all that makes our area special, as well as promote tourism and the arts thru the artistic expression of public outdoor murals. This journey began with a visit to Lake Placid in 2012 and followed with visits to Lake Wales, Deland and Palatka. In November 2015, the North Brevard Mural Society (Titusville, FL) kicked off their first two murals, which were both completed by early December. Watch for more exciting murals to abe added to the NBMS collection in 2016!
Harriet Porter of Lake Placid, Kelly Gaylord of Punta Gorda and Luann Malark of Titusville are moving forward to officially organize the Florida Mural Trail. A recent mini-trip to view 5 murals in Okeechobee, 2 murals in Arcadia, 28 murals in Punta Gorda and re-visit Lake Placid and their 45+ murals is making this dream become a reality!
