Resolution

Whereas, The Harry T. Moore Homesite Development Committee was formed in 1995 to assist Brevard County in planning the development of the homesite property purchased by Brevard County Board of County Commissioners in 1994, and

Whereas, said committee has received input from all of Brevard County through advertised meetings since 1995, and

Whereas, from input received, said committee has developed a conceptual master plan which includes a replica of the 1951 home, an interpretive center for teaching, social and cultural events, and outdoor meeting facility with related site amenities, and

Whereas, the committee has sought through grants and other public sources, funding for the master plan of the homesite development to honor Harry T. And Harriette V. Moore, and

Whereas, The Honorable Randy Ball, Florida State Representative, has through his efforts been instrumental in the award of $700,000 from the 1998 State Legislature for development of the 10-acre Harry T. Moore Homesite in Mims,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE HARRY T. MOORE HOMESITE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE, does hereby express its sincere appreciation to

The Honorable Bill Posey

for his efforts in the realization of the community dream to preserve the memory of Harry T. And Harriette V. Moore for future generations.
