SEA TURTLE RELEASE
New Smyrna Beach, FL - Canaveral National Seashore will be the release site for two sub-adult Loggerhead sea turtles, Caton and Talbot, from the Georgia Sea Turtle Center at Jekyll Island. The release will take place around noon on Monday, December 28, 2009 at the administrative boardwalk, across from the Visitor Center.Coastal water temperatures in Florida are still safe and suitable for a release. Both turtles will have a satellite transmitter placed on top of their shell. The GSTC and the Georgia Aquarium will be collaborating on tracking the turtles after they are released.
