DESIGNATION OF BACKCOUNTRY AREA
Superintendent Robert Newkirk has announced the designation of a Backcountry Use Area at Canaveral National Seashore. The area is Klondike Beach from marker 29 to marker 71, a six mile stretch located between Apollo and Playalinda beaches. Use of this area will require a permit, which will be available at the Park's fee booths. However, this area is currently closed due to the continued heightened security in the Seashore.
