FOLK FEST 2007
The North Brevard Heritage Foundation was a welcomed new table top at this year's Slotin Folk Fest 2007 www.slotinfolkart.com As the Slotin Folk Fest held their 14th annual tradeshow, with 90 galleries represented from all over the Untied States, Self-Taught Art, Outsider Art, Southern Folk Pottery, Antique Folk Art & more ...
The Heritage Park VISION and NBHF projects were shared as a guest (501 3-c)
table top along side, Atlantic Books and Folk Art, Rare Vision and this years silent auction feature: PARADISE REDEMPTION, Folk Fest Silent Auction to Sponsor the restoration and Preservation of Howard Finster's Paradise Garden (a new non-profit.)
The overall response and future assistance seemed well received with anticipation and great support from various venues. In the dialogue about the project VISION a tale was told of how a frontier County Commissioner championed to save the rich heritage by protecting and preserving the vital past of North Brevard, the county at large and Central East/Central Florida's diverse beginnings. Roz Foster, Outstanding Woman in Florida History, Florida Historical Society. The President's vision is coupled with newly elected V.P. NBHF, historical award winning author & of documentaries, Dr. Ben Brotemarkle, BCC and their dedicated preservation members and board. As new partners to Heritage Park, Brian Dowdall folk artist/collector and Alison Spiesman curator, artist and instructor represented NBHF introducing this Florida VISION to our Folk Family. We look to be a vital contribution to Heritage Park.
