Brain Power Walk at Searstown Mall - Report

What a day October 1st, 2011 was for Pilot Club of Titusville, Spacecoast Pilot Club and the Astronaut High School Anchor Club as we gathered for the annual Brain Power Walk.

The Anchor club did their puppet skits about the importance of protecting our brains for life and also had a bake sale to benefit their community service projects. This club is very active and had 14 members turn out to help with the day and "walk the mall." Helmets were handed out by the Spacecoast Pilot Club with T-shirts given out by Pilot Club of Titusville.

A CVS representative had Flu Shots available and handed out some valuable free materials for people to use concerning health issues.

A very good day for all who attended.

WHAT IS A PILOT?*

As a PILOT, you may not fly an airplane...

  • BUT ...
  • YOU WILL take off in a new and exciting direction.
  • YOU WILL develop new and interesting friendships.
  • YOU WILL network with other community leaders.
  • YOU WILL improve your leadership skills.
  • YOU WILL be lending your support to worthwhile causes.
  • BUT... MOST OF ALL,

  • YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOU HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE!

Friendship becomes visible through the eyes of service as Pilots bond together having FUN, sharing IDEAS, developing INSIGHT, and TURNING DREAMS INTO REALITY.

The Pilot Club of Titusville, Inc. was awarded the "Business of the Year 2009" Award on May 15, 2009 at Radisson at the Port. The Pilot Club has given a Mini-Grant for the past several years to support the "Super Stars Camp K-6th" for special needs children. Congratulations to our club on winning this award!!!!

A little about Hidden Potentials:
The founders of Hidden Potentials truly believe that everyone deserves a fighting chance! As the parent of an exceptional child, Kathy Clinton, the Executive Director, knew that she was ultimately responsible to see that her son, Tristan, who has autism, had the best opportunity to learn. She found a therapist who used a progressive, results oriented approach. Tremendous success was achieved in teaching Tristan self-help skills, communication skills, academics, and social skills. Because of the success of Tristan's program, Hidden Potentials was created. Hidden Potentials works with children with the following needs:
  • Autism, Down Syndrome, Mental Retardation
  • CAPD, Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities
  • ADHD or ADD, Slow Learners

  • Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida
  • Adults with Dementia, Alzheimers, Physical Needs
