Saturday, February 12, the Titusville High School Key Club along with members from the National Honors Society, held a SENIOR PROM for the residents of the Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center in Titusville, FL from 2 to 4 pm in the homes' Dining Room. The students provided cookies and small pinwheel sandwiches and Punch. They also brought in decorations and made corsages and boutonnieres which they pinned on all the residents. The band, TWO'S COMPANY, heard about the Event the Key Club had planned and volunteered to play for the PROM.

Over 25 students came to help decorate, visit with the residents, dance with the residents, serve refreshments and then cleaned-up. The Nursing home supplied iced tea, regular and de-cafe coffee and plates, cups and ice.

A King and Queen of the Prom were Crowned near the end of the afternoon Event. (I'm sorry I can't provide their names, but I'm sure the Nursing home could provide that information.)

Residents in wheelchairs or walkers enjoyed dancing with the students and the students all looked like they were having a great time. The students served the GUESTS refreshments and invited them to dance with them. It was interesting seeing these high school students learn to dance with people in wheelchairs and walkers, some of which could move quite well and others could only hold hands and gently sway with them.  The Key Club is going to take the pictures from the EVENT and put them together in an Album to present to the Nursing Home.
