World's Greatest Baby Shower Coming Saturday, May 1
Annual event to be held at The Children's Center in Titusville
TITUSVILLE, FLA, March 12, 2010— The best gift you can give an expectant or new mother is to bring her to the World's Greatest Baby Shower, Saturday, May 1 — communities working together to promote healthy babies and healthy mothers. This annual event will be held at The Children's Center, 5650 South Washington Avenue, Titusville. The free event will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and targets all new and expectant parents, including adoptive parents.
The World's Greatest Baby Shower offers educational exhibits and helpful presentations by healthcare and other children's experts, plus light refreshments and plenty of door prizes. Topics this year are "Make Your Own Baby Food," offered by Beth Shephard, University of Florida Extension Agent/IFAS Brevard County Extension; "Diabetes in Children" by Omar Hudson, MD, pediatric endocrinologist with MIMA; "Drowning Prevention/Water Safety" by Gayle Whitworth, University of Florida Extension Agent/IFAS Brevard County Extension; and "Ask A Doc" panel with a lactation specialist, midwife, anesthesiologist and pediatrician. Over 40 informational booths showcasing agencies or merchants will offer their services to young families with soon-to-be newborns or infants under two years old.

UCF Cornerstone Students to Volunteer at The Children's Center
Community is invited to help spruce up the handicapped accessible play structure
TITUSVILLE, FLA, April 2, 2010—The University of Central Florida College of Business Administration's "Cornerstone" students are completing a community volunteer project at The Children's Center located at 5650 S. Washington Ave., Titusville, on Sunday, April 11, beginning at 8 a.m.
Donated supplies will allow the students and community volunteers to prep, paint and recoat the handicapped accessible play structure at The Children's Center. Support has been received from local businesses, including Lowe's, Ace Hardware, Richard's Paint, Home Depot and Sherwin Williams of Merritt Island. Lending the expertise to complete this project will be Joe Caslin Painting & Pressure Cleaning.

Developmental Milestones Awareness: Healthy Living Seminar
Learn about the stages of development from birth to age 3 at The Children's Center
TITUSVILLE, FLA, March 29, 2010 — As the parent of a new baby or toddler you've probably wondered if he or she is developing appropriately. When should you expect your baby to roll over or sit up? When should your toddler walk up and down the stairs without assistance?
Find the answers when you attend the Healthy Living Seminar "Developmental Milestones Awareness," Wednesday, April 14 at 10 a.m. at The Children's Center, 5650 S. Washington Avenue, Titusville. Join other families and learn about the stages of development from birth to age 3 when Occupational Therapist Marcelle Horn-Mandiola, with Parrish Medical Center Pediatric Rehabilitation, will answer these questions and more.
