4-H Club NEWS |
Local club activities include:
- Enterprise Explorers 4-H Club just elected officers for the coming year. Members are starting posters for the "4-H in My Community" poster contest and looking forward to sewing for the fashion show. Their club banner won in the Central Florida Contest and they are using their winning to order tee shirts.
- Apollo Super Clovers 4-H Club had four members receive recognition for their clover achievement. Members are starting posters for the state poster contest and just elected new officers for this year.
- Coquina Clovers 4-H Club is reorganizing, starting posters and planning for the years activities.
- Titusville Sewing Club has been sewing this summer, finishing zipper pencil bags and mouse bookmarks just in time for school starting. Next project will be a pumpkin with hat for a Halloween decoration. Learning hand stitches, practicing machine use and how to gather by machine. Members are also preparing for the fashion show by choosing and sewing their own personal projects.
- Sculpture Cool Clovers 4-H members are reorganizing and continuing their science adventures and choosing new officers for a new year.
- The Creative Clovers 4-H Club is making posters during intersession and sewing quickie projects.
- Archery Clubs are busy hitting the targets.
- Twenty-two 4-Hers just completed the radKIDS program on personal safety with the Sheriffs Dept.
- Three weeks of Marine Day Camp were held this summer where members toured the natural hammocks, the Canaveral locks, a fishing business, dip netted, observed manatees, seined, had a discovery day with the natural resources dept. and made paper mache' fish, beach collection bags and tee shirts.
- A week of training for babysitters ages eleven and up was held at the Titusville library where the participants learned all the basics for safe baby-sitting.
- 4-H summer camp was a great success spending five days at Camp Ocala and participating in planned activities including swimming, canoeing and arts and crafts for lots of summer fun.
- Other clubs are in the process of reorganizing for a great 4-H year!
