Housing Enhancement for Lower-Income People, Inc. (HELP), is a 501(c)3, not-for profit organization serving Central and South Florida, headquartered in Mims, Florida.
HELP strives to provide supportive services to individuals and families in need, with special emphasis on veterans. These services and resources offer participants the opportunity to achieve or regain self-sufficiency, to build self-esteem, and to improve their life-style becoming contributing members of the community. |
The objective of HELP is to identify the needs and gaps in community services and partner with other organizations to fill the gaps. HELP partners with the faith-based community, government agencies, and other not-for-profits to maximize services without duplicating efforts.
Specifically, Housing Enhancement for Lower-Income People (HELP) provides Emergency Housing and Transitional Housing with the goal of moving individuals to Permanent Housing and an independent living situation by the end of 24 months. Additionally, HELP provides supportive services to include: vocational assessment, case management, life skills training, transportation, HIV Education and Testing, Prescription Drug Consulting, and a drop-in center which provides supplemental food items for all in need. |
