What is Done During a Tutoring Session?
![]()
- The tutor uses the Goals & Objectives developed by the Educational Program Director as the guide for lesson planning
- The tutor uses materials based on the learning style of the child (i.e., visual learner will use lots of written examples, pictures, etc; a kinesthetic learner will use hands on activities and games)
- The tutor will keep track of progress in all areas (academics, organizational, focusing and language) each session and report weekly to parents and the Educational Program Director. If adjustments need to be made to the program (materials or strategies), the tutor will do so with the assistance of Hidden Potentials staff.
- Students are guided step by step to ensure concepts are grasped before moving to the next step.
- The Student is rewarded with praise and encouragement for doing their best during and after the session.
- Data will reveal how the student is progressing toward mastering each goal. After mastery, the student will periodically practice previously learned skills to ensure success.
