Upward® believes that "Every Child Is A Winner™." Upward is a basketball ministry in Titusville, Florida aimed at
leading 1st through 8th grade children to Christ through the development of a positive and productive basketball experience.
Upward Basketball
In 1986, through the obedience of a recreation minister named Caz McCaslin, Upward Basketball began at a church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It offers a break from the norm where the primary focus of Upward is to develop the Winner in EVERY child, not just a few.
By keeping this goal in mind, Upward is able to build a league that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in all who participate through: Sportsmanship and competitiveness in proper perspective by not maintaining league standings in any division. Maximizing the family schedule by having only one hour of practice and one game each week. Allowing the coach to focus on ministering to children and their families, instead of game strategy, by having a set substitution system where all players are allowed equal playing time and equal opportunity for improvement.

- WHO: ALL BOYS & GIRLS IN 1ST - 8TH GRADES (8 separate leagues: 1st/2nd girls, 1st/2nd boys, 3rd/4th girls, etc.)
- WHEN: REGISTRATION IS NOW THROUGH AUGUST 26
- COST: $70 UNTIL AUGUST 18, THEN IT IS $80. EACH PLAYER RECEIVES: REVERSIBLE GAME JERSEY, UPWARD T-SHIRT, YEAR END GIFT (GYM BAG, BASKETBALL, ETC.), AND MORE!!
- EVALUATIONS: (EACH PLAYER MUST ATTEND 1) SAT. AUG. 16; SAT. AUG. 23; MON., AUG 25; TUES. AUG 26
- PRACTICES: START THE WEEK OF SEPT. 15 (ONLY ONE 1-HOUR PRACTICE PER WEEK)
- GAMES: START SAT. SEPT 27 AND PLAY EACH SATURDAY THROUGH NOV. 22
- AWARDS NIGHT: MONDAY, NOV. 24
