Bob Flick was born in Pennsylvania, February 1938. He graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1956. In 1958 he was awarded an Associates Degree from Penn State University.
Although he never received any formal art training, he would paint or carve wood when confined indoors during bad weather. Some of his earliest works were nature scenes, painted from memory on rough-cut lumber.
Since retiring to Florida, he has returned to painting, inspired by scenes in Brevard County, Florida. He attributes his improved style and attention to detail to his neighbors, Sidney and Barbara Willis, who are professional artists from New Hampshire. They have been encouragers and shared constructive criticism over time.
Bob also enjoys working with nature provided articles such as sand, shells, feathers, bones, etc. From these he is able to create some very unique "Folk Art."
