Harriette Vyda Moore was born in Mims, Florida on June 19, 1902.
Her parents were David Ira Simms, Sr. and Annie Warren Simms.
Harriette attended Daytona Normal Industrial Institute in Daytona Beach, Florida.
She graduated from Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach with an AA Degree in 1941, and a B.S Degree in 1950.
Her family consists of:
Husband -- Harry Tyson Moore (1905 - 1951)
Daughter -- Annie Rosalea Moore Hampton (1928 - 1972)
Daughter -- Juanita Evangeline Moore (1930 - )
Grandson -- Drapher Adholtz Pagan, Jr. [Skip] (1953 - )
Great grandson -- Darren Allen Pagan (1992 - )
Her work experience included:
- Worked summers in Massillon, Ohio where she went with her father who at that time was a Wood Lathe worker.
- Taught elementary school in Merritt Island, Florida
- Taught 3rd and 4th grades at Mims Elementary School where she also prepared daily hot lunches for students in grades 1 - 6.
- Taught elementary school in Lake Park, Florida (1948 - 1951).
