SEA TURTLE FESTIVAL
On Friday, June 14, 2013 and Saturday, June 15, 2013, Canaveral National Seashore along with the City of Titusville will be hosting the 3rd Annual Titusville Sea Turtle Festival. The Titusville Sea Turtle Festival allows the City of Titusville, as well as Canaveral National Seashore to become partners in an effort to bring more awareness of the long standing conservation issues on sea turtles. Not only does the seashore host over 4000 nests a year, the connecting lagoon systems also provide a safe habitat for green and loggerhead sea turtles. Education and conservation of these beautiful, endangered and threatened species is critical to their survival. Visitors will enjoy two days of fun activities that involve cleaning up the beach for the nesting sea turtles, and enjoyment of local artists depictions of the local wildlife to the actual festival itself. For further information on the festival please visit www.titusvilleseaturtlefestival.com or call 321-403-9334.
