CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE RESURFACING AND REHABILITATION
OF PLAYALINDA BEACH ROAD AND 14 PARKING LOTS

Playalinda Beach Road improvement project is scheduled to begin September 6, 2011. The project consists of resurfacing and rehabilitation of approximately 4.3 miles of beach road and 14 parking lots. The work will provide a two inch overlay of the existing roadway and parking areas, the removal and replacement of existing wheel stops, signs, pavement markings and some shoulder conditioning. The roadway will remain open to traffic during construction. Two to four parking lots will be closed in progression starting at parking lot 13 for paving. Once these parking lots are paved, striped and wheel stops completed, they will be reopened to visitors. The scheduled project completion date is January 4, 2012.
