GENERAL MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE PUBLIC MEETINGSCONTACT: John Stiner: (321) 267-1110 Ext 14
The National Park Service is developing an updated General Management Plan for Canaveral National Seashore. This plan will set the direction for management of the national seashore for the next 15 to 20 years. Through public and NPS staff participation, four preliminary alternatives have been identified. These represent a range of opportunities for how the seashore will look and be managed for resources and visitor experiences in the future.
The park is holding three open houses to obtain public comments on the proposed alternatives. These will be held on:
- Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at NPS Headquarters, 308 Julia Street, Titusville, FL.
- Wednesday June 13, 2007 at the NPS Visitor Information Center, 7611 South Atlantic Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, FL.
- Thursday June 14, 2007 at the Main House, Seminole Rest Site, 210 River Road (and Palm Avenue), Oak Hill, FL.
The sessions are informal so feel free to drop in anytime between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Please come and provide your input on the future management of Canaveral National Seashore.
