OPENING OF TWO HISTORIC BUILDINGS AT SEMINOLE REST SITECONTACT Chief Ranger, Eric Lugo: 321-267-1110
Carol A. Clark, Superintendent at Canaveral National Seashore, would like to announce the opening of two historic buildings at the seashore's Seminole Rest site located in Oak Hill, Florida. "This site will be used to orient visitors to Canaveral National Seashore and to interpret the history and prehistory of the Seminole Rest site. Visitors will be able to learn about the people who lived here, why they came, how they lived, what contributions they made to the history of the area, and how they preserved this archeological treasure." Clark said.
There will be a dedication ceremony starting at the parking area of the site at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 21st. The public is invited to visit this open house. Park rangers and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.
Location of Seminole Rest is 210 River Rd., Oak Hill, Florida.
