"Smilin' Jack" Fly-in is dedicated to Zach Mosley who drew the "Smilin' Jack" cartoon strip during the forty years from 1933 to 1973, an inspiration source for many young boys & girls who would later become a part of the nation's aviation program.
In addition, he was one of a handful of pilots in the Civil Air Patrol who flew anti-submarine patrols on the east coast of the United States for the 18 months following 7 December, 1941. He and those other pilots who had flown over 300 hours on ocean coastal patrol eventually received the USAAF Air Medal for their contribution. In 1944 he became the third C.A.P. Wing Commander of Florida. 
The normal distribution of aircraft ranges from ultra-lights through wood and fabric, some ex-military: domestic and foreign, and on up to the glass marvels of the present. In addition to the commercially produced aircraft, a variety of homebuilt aircraft will be present.
