Allan and Christy Scherer
Owners and Directors
Allan and Christy are the proud owners and directors of Dance Theater Performing Arts (DTPA). They homeschool their children, Courtney, Corey, Cenzey and Cambrey, and devote their lives to their family and DTPA. After being involved with DTPA as a parent for seven years, they became owners in January 2008. As parents of four children, Christy and Allan feel that children should be allowed the opportunity to "reach for the stars". Being owners of DTPA allows them to provide children a wonderful opportunity to excel as dancers, singers, choreographers, and musicians.
Integrity, strength, and confidence are values they instill in their own children as well as the children of the DTPA "family". After becoming owners and directors, Allan and Christy took this small dance school and made it what it is today – a family oriented school that provides a positive and competitive environment for children to expand their talents and explore their dreams. They have a Junior and Senior Performing Team that has been requested to perform throughout Central Florida, a Production Team that competes in competitions, and students that compete in regional and national competitions. Their students have brought home many prestigious awards such as National Title Winner and Top Soloist, and frequently place in the "Top Ten" for solos, duos, trios and groups. Over the years, DTPA has become increasingly more involved with the community. DTPA volunteers their time by performing in the Titusville Street Parties, County Festivals, State Fairs, Grand Openings, Camps, Community Centers, and the Annual New Year's Eve Cocoa Village Celebration. In addition, DTPA volunteered their resources and time to build and participate in the first Downtown Titusville Halloween Haunted House.
"We strive to make our students feel loved and challenged at the same time. We will always make our students and their families feel at home, whether they have been with us for years or just walking through the door for the first time!" — Allan and Christy Scherer |
